To access manual mode turn the mode dial on the top of my camera to the ‘M’ setting.
Fortunately my camera has a touch screen, so I am able to change all the settings through the screen.
To be able to change the shutter speed in manual mode I just use the thumb wheel at the top of my camera.
To change the aperture value I hold down the Av button while scrolling the thumb wheel.

To be able to get a correct exposure in a photo I have to balance the shutter speed, aperture value and ISO value.
To increase the amount of light entering the lens I choose a lower aperture value.
To increase the cameras sensitivity to light I increase the ISO value.
And to increase the duration of much light enters the camera I decrease the shutter speed.
By balancing these three settings I can have full control over the exposure in the photographs my camera is able to take.
