RGB, CMYK – When And Where
https://pointeradvertising.com/rgb-cmyk-when-where/

Here is a colour wheel we discussed about in class. The primary colours are RGB, red green and blue respectively. The secondary colours are CMY, cyan magenta and green respectively. Our computer screens mainly work in RGB but modern printers work in CMY and black to add darkness in to the image being printed. Usually images on screens look brighter than images that have been printed out.

Adjusting Levels

This is the original image I stared working with.
Here I created a levels adjustment layer above the image I wanted to manipulate.
Here I boosted the shadows layer to darken the images as I was trying to create a low key portrait. I also lowed the highlight values in curves as I wanted to brighten to image to enhance the whites in my image.

Adjusting Curves

This is the original image I started working with.
Here I added an adjustment layer for curves on the layer above the image I was working on.
In this image I played around with the curves adjustment layer. I adjusted the curves at four different points, from shadows to highlights. I decreased the blacks, shadows and highlights on the curves to darken the image overall. Finally I increased the whites a little bit to bring back some light in to the photograph. After all these adjustments I feel I created a successful low key portrait and learnt to use the curves and levels adjustments in photoshop.
